Motorola ATRIX 2 receives Android 4.0 ICS update

Google‘s second-latest Android offering.

The new update fixes a handful of bugs and improves performance throughout, including faster page loading and tabbed browsing within the new web browser, in addition to new locking/unlocking features that let you unlock your ATRIX 2 on to plenty of apps just like the camera, text messages, or the telephone dialer.

Users can now also use Face Unlock, which unlocks your phone using your front-facing camera for facial recognition. You are able to create folders for your homescreen, and there is also a brand new “swipe away” notifications bar. On top of those features, the update can also be changing some things around. As an example, the contacts app is being replaced with the recent People app, which attracts in information from different sources and gathers it into one place.

AT&T says you will get the update now by going to Settings > About phone > System updates, otherwise you can just watch for a notification on the way to prompt you to update. Be sure you have access to a WiFi connection, because the update won’t install over an information connection. Take a look at our full review of the ATRIX 2 for more information about the telephone.
