I didn’t change the meaning of the sentence. “You” refers to a single person in most dialects of English. Also, penetration of a bullet has absolutely nothing to do with the type of action or lock that the gun it is fired from uses. The determining factors in penetration are bullet weight, bullet shape, bullet composition, and velocity upon impact with the target.

“bullet proof vest” is a misnomer. There is no such thing as a vest that can stop all kinds of bullets. There is armor, but it can’t stop everything. I’ve seen 7.62x54r light ball ammo go right through a vest rated for use in protecting against .30/06 .
Also, I’ve never heard of a case where the battle was between one man and thousands of men. It is simply impossible.

When wiring each solenoid, is it possible to layer several coils one on top of the other, or would this cancel out the magnetic field?

What I want to know is what the pounds per square inch is with the impact force of the shell. I still find it hard to believe magnet or coil guns as an efficient weapon on a small scale. It’ll seems more realistic once we have a large energy break through, I presume. But not before.

I want to make one of these. Do i need Farads in my capacitors or higher volts. Would i get better preformance if I buy a more specialized capacitor.

@SkeksisRule electronics can break, but theres less machinery that could jam
@souske25 It’s probably very far off, but the possible benefits would be lighter weight, less noise, no need for gun powder.. then again there are electronics that could go bad so it’s less reliable.
why would we in the future switch to a coil guns?
saying we get coil guns to be par with regular guns
