PLAiR device recollects Nexus Q laptop-to-TV video streaming

It would seem that the lost product that was the Google Nexus Q is back again – though not created with the identical technology, exactly, and positively not manufactured by an analogous brand. What’s appearing this week is a tool by the name of PLAiR, made approximately the dimensions of the palm of a human hand and attachable to the back of your television via its full-sized HDMI port (in case your television was made previously 10 years, you have got one). This device will allow users to play video from their laptop or smartphone wirelessly to the screen in their TV.

New Google Glass video demos true potential of water-resistant wearable

Google’s original concept video, putting a preview pane of the Glass eyepiece within the upper right corner of the screen, and showing how the headset can react to spoken commands previewed with the order “OK, Glass.”

So, to take a photograph you may merely wake the headset with the “OK, Glass” command, after which say “take a picture” complete with a preview within the corner of your vision. A similar is right for video – “Start Recording” – and you’ll trigger Google+ Hangouts too, giving friends a live streaming view during the headset’s front-facing video camera.

Twitter improves photo and video viewing in web interface

new enhancements to the way it handles photos and videos at the service’s web interface. Namely, they have got made it easier to view either type of media on profile pages and in search results. When users click a photograph from these two places, a bigger version will pop up. With videos, Twitter has expanded its list of services whose media appear in media galleries, and rather than just photos, videos now appear at the gallery.

China considers lifting video game console ban says report

It’s hard to believe that gamers in China haven’t been ready to play games on a console since 2000. The Chinese government banned all game consoles that year meaning that Chinese gamers haven’t begun to have access to the PS3, Xbox 360, or Nintendo Wii. Chinese gamers were ready to play games on computers, so at the very least they haven’t been in gaming limbo all this time.

Sony Xperia Z leaked promotional video shows water resistant body, HDR camera

Sony “Yuga” is officially named the Xperia Z, and now additional info at the handset has appeared. Consistent with a leaked promotional video, the Xperia Z has a “skeleton frame” and is water/dust resistant. Additionally, it has an Exmor RS image sensor and might take images and record video in HDR.

The so-called skeleton frame consists of individual components, per Sony, upon which the telephone is assembled. To boot, there’s an OptiContrast panel, a 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera, a whole HD Reality display, and the facility to both take images and record videos within the HDR mode. Also demonstrated is its water-resistant body, with images showing the handset covered in large droplets of water.
