Mac OS X – Checking the Status of Font
Mac OS X allows you to check the status of a number of fonts in the system. That way, you can maintain the integrity of an existing font on the system.

Font tips stored in the system could be damaged over time. This could be a disaster if you’re working and need these fonts. Finding and check the status of each font is stored in the system is not an easy case. Fortunately, Mac OS X provides the tools to check each font in the system. To check, open the Application folder and select the Font Book. You can choose the font problems one by one. In addition, you can also select a set of fonts that problem by using a combination of [Command] + click the mouse for each of his font. Next, open the menu “File | Font Validation”. In the Font Validation window, there is a list of fonts that you can check.
On the right there is the status of these fonts. If the status is green, fonts do not have problems. Yellow status means there is a problem in the font and should be checked further. If the red status, fonts can not be used again and is better removed from the system.
